IP KVM Matrix for A Power Supply Company of State Grid in Hunan

Requirements

Since the automation room is on the 21st floor, the workstations that the staff need to use are divided into four types: main network, distribution network, network management, and security monitoring.

Since the automation room is on the 21st floor, the workstations that the staff need to use are divided into four types: main network, distribution network, network management, and security monitoring.

There are 28 workstations in A\B\C\D cabinets, of which 10 main network workstations and 8 distribution network workstations are operation and maintenance systems, and the remaining 10 workstations are debugging systems.

However, the operating seats are located on the 16th floor, 10 seats for O&M and 5 seats for debugging. What’s more, connect each O&M seat to a server for office use. Therefore, the customer urgently needs a perfect KVM solution to improve work efficiency and save costs.

Solution

In this case, 2 IP KVM Matrix systems and 2 switches are used. Kinan uses cascading connection to solve the problem that the workstation is far from the O&M seats. The steps of cascading connection:

  • Set up optical fibers between the 21st and 16th floors.
  • Connect the optical fiber box at both ends of the optical fiber.
  • Install a switch in the server room and the office.
  • Use optical fiber Patch cord to connect the two switches to the optical fiber box.

DV2302 can be used to connect receivers and servers, which allows each O&M seat to switch among 18 workstations of main network and distribution network.
